A teen was arrested for killing his father and stabbing two other family members at their home in Alpharetta, Georgia, on Monday.

Alpharetta police spokesman Sgt. Howard Miller said officers responded to the incident around 5 a.m. on Monday after receiving a domestic disturbance call. The responding officers were met by a man at the door covered in blood. He was later identified as 24-year-old Eric Chuong. The man told the officers 19-year-old Austin Chuong had stabbed him and two other family members and fled the scene.

Upon entering the home, the officers found 55-year-old Andrew Chuong lying motionless on the floor. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Local reports identified Andrew as Austin’s father.

A woman, identified as 56-year-old Jenny Phang, was also found with stab wounds on her chest. Phang and Eric were rushed to a local hospital for treatment; their condition remains unknown.

Meanwhile, the officers, who were joined by a K9 team, found Austin in the wood a few yards behind the latter’s home. The teen had cuts on his arm but was not armed when he was captured by the officers. He was charged with murder and aggravated assault and was being held at Fulton County Jail.

Following the arrest, the police said, “We have no reason to believe there is a danger to our community.”

An investigation was underway to find out the motive behind the crime.

The incident comes a month after a teen in Texas stabbed four people, including two children, inside a store. The accused, identified as 19-year-old Jose Gomez, attacked the victims at a Midland Sam's Club. An off-duty U.S. Border Patrol agent, who was inside the store, disarmed the teen. Gomez was taken into custody and charged with attempted capital murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Meanwhile, the victims were rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

Following the incident, Border Patrol's Big Bend Sector Chief Matthew Hudak said, “The quick action of our agent ended this shocking situation and clearly saved multiple lives.”
