Felicity Huffman has been cast in Season 2 of Epix’s dark comedy series “Get Shorty.”

According to Deadline, Huffman will play the recurring role of Clara Dillard, a mothering, high-level special agent for the FBI. Described as hippie therapist meets J. Edgar Hoover, Clara takes over the investigation focusing on Amara (Lidia Portio) and her crime organization in Season 2.

Huffman is best known for her Emmy-winning role as Lynette Scavo on the ABC mystery dramedy series “Desperate Housewives.” Her other TV credits include NBC’s “Frasier” and ABC’s “American Crime,” “Sports Night,” and “The D.A.” On the film side, the 55-year-old actress starred in the 2005 comedy drama “Transamerica.” Her performance in the Duncan Tucker –directed movie won her a Golden Globe and got her an Oscar nomination.

In related news, viewers will see more of Sarah Stiles in Season 2 of “Get Shorty.” Stiles, who recurred as Gladys in Season 1, has been promoted to series regular for the show’s sophomore run.

Inspired by the 1990 Elmore Leonard novel of the same title, “Get Shorty” tells the story of career criminal Miles Daly (Chris O’Dowd), who tries to go clean by making a movie with B-list Hollywood producer Rick Moreweather (Ray Romano). But by the time Season 2 rolls around, the relationship between the two starts to fall apart as Rick agrees to wear a wire to aid the FBI’s investigation into the criminal organization Miles is a part of.

In addition to Portio, Stiles, O’Dowd, and Romano, other original cast members returning for Season 2 are Sean Bridgers as Louis, Carolyn Dodd as Emma Daly, Goya Robles as Yago, Megan Stevenson as April Quinn, and Lucy Walters as Katie Daly.

As suggested by a photo recently shared by Dodd on Twitter, Isaac Keys is also set to reprise his role as Ed.

Production on Season 2 is currently underway. The series will shoot its ten-episode sophomore run entirely in Los Angeles, and is expected to return to Epix later this year.
