KEY POINTS

  • Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady have separated multiple times in the past years, a report claims
  • The couple reportedly have a "big fight" every couple of years but "always worked through things"
  • Brady is reportedly "hopeful" they would reconcile again this time

Gisele Bundchen allegedly consulted a lawyer about divorcing her husband Tom Brady as early as seven years ago, a report has claimed.

Bundchen, 42, first consulted a divorce lawyer in 2015 following a secret split with the NFL superstar, Page Six reported, citing multiple unnamed sources.

The supermodel and the athlete reportedly split a few times over the years before their alleged "epic fight" in August that led to their latest separation, the sources claimed to the outlet. International Business Times could not independently verify this information.

"Tom and Gisele have separated before. Every couple of years they have a big fight and she has left Tom before, but she always came back," one source "in the know" told Page Six. "They always worked through things, and Tom was hopeful they would do it again this time."

Unnamed sources close to Bundchen also told TMZ this week that Bundchen threatened to divorce Brady several times over a period of years due to his football career.

In February, Brady announced his retirement after over two decades in the NFL. However, he had a change of heart and reversed his decision six weeks later, saying he still belongs on the field.

Bundchen is reportedly unhappy about his decision to unretire. "Gisele has always been the one with the kids. They had agreed he would retire to focus on the family, then he changed his mind," an unnamed source previously told Page Six.

The last time Bundchen and Brady had a big fight is believed to be two years ago, but they worked through things at the time, Page Six reported.

However, both stars recently hired divorce lawyers in Florida, where they live, signaling a possible end to their 13-year marriage, according to the outlet.

Bundchen is reportedly "tired" of putting her own dreams on hold while her husband continues to prioritize his career over their family, an anonymous source told Entertainment Tonight.

"Rumblings of marital issues between Tom and Gisele began towards the end of the summer, and more recently, things have gotten worse and more serious," the source told ET. "They haven't been in a good place. Gisele feels like Tom has chosen his career over his family, and she is tired of it. She also has her own dreams and aspirations and doesn't want to have to keep putting her goals on hold. They are weighing their options for their future as a family and thinking about what the next steps might look like."

Brady reportedly feels "very hurt" by Bundchen, who is allegedly the one "steering the divorce," People reported, citing an unnamed insider close to the athlete.

"She is playing offense and he is playing defense," the source added. "He wants to protect himself, protect his interests, but he's only starting to go the legal route in his defense from her. He doesn't want this to be ugly, he doesn't want to fight. If the divorce is happening — and it seems like it is — he wants it to go as smoothly as possible."
