The stars of "Glee" have remained pop-culture fixtures since the show's series finale in 2015. This is no exception for Lea Michele, who appeared on the Fox comedy-drama as Rachel Berry. In the subsequent years, she went on to lend her talents to Ryan Murphy's "Scream Queens" and ABC's "The Mayor." Now, her "Glee" past is resurfacing thanks to a former co-star speaking out about what she claims took place behind the scenes.

On Monday, Samantha Ware, who starred as Jane Hayward on the series, tweeted her frustrations about the alleged way Michele had treated her in the past.

In her tweet, Ware stated that Michele made her first television experience experience "a living hell." While working on "Glee," she said that Michele committed "traumatic microaggressions" towards her that made her question a career in Hollywood. Her tweet can be seen here.

Ware's criticism came as a response to Michele's tweet about George Floyd's recent death. In her own tweet, she discussed the event which has since created a broader conversation about police brutality and law enforcement's overall behavior. "George Floyd did not deserve this. This was not an isolated incident and it must end. #BlackLivesMatter," she wrote on May 29.

After Ware spoke out, others who appeared on the show seemingly showed their support for her on Twitter. Alex Newell, who appeared as Unique Adams, and Amber Riley, who played Mercedes Jones, also reacted. Riley's tweet, which can be seen below, simply included a GIF of her sipping a drink, which gave a nod to her feelings about the recent controversy.

At press time, Michele had yet to address the controversy.

This is not the first time that reports of a tumultuous environment behind the scenes of "Glee" have emerged. Previously, rumors indicated that Michele and former co-star Naya Rivera also had a difficult relationship while working together. However, those rumors were eventually put to rest by both Rivera during a 2019 episode of Andy Cohen's show "Watch What Happens Live" and during an interview series creator Ryan Murphy did with Extra in 2014.
