Gotham Fall Finale
Mr. Freeze (Nathan Darrow) made his "Gotham" debut in the final seconds of the fall finale in November. Fox

The second half of "Gotham" Season 2 will kick off Monday on Fox after the series went on winter hiatus in November. Detective Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) took the law into his own hands in the fall finale to rescue Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) and rid the city of evil mayor Theo Galavan (James Frain). Before we see the aftermath play out in the final 11 episodes of Season 2, here's a brief refresher of where fans left off.

Theo had kidnapped Bruce when the fall finale began and he explained that he did it because he comes from the Dumas family, who believe they were wronged by the Waynes. Theo felt he would finally have revenge for his family if he killed Bruce, who is the last living member of the Wayne family. Bruce discovered that Silver (Natalie Alyn Lind) has been playing him after she pretended to try to break him out. She revealed to Bruce that if she didn't make it seem like Bruce is in love with her, Theo would throw her out of the family. Bruce decided to kiss Silver in front of Theo for it to look like he was in love with her before he got taken away to be sacrificed.

Lucius Fox (Chris Chalk) knew something happened to Alfred (Sean Pertwee) and Bruce, so he went to GCPD to report them missing. Capt. Barnes (Michael Chiklis) learned that they actually had Alfred locked up at headquarters after he was caught trying to steal a car. Alfred tried to tell Barnes that Theo and his sister were behind Bruce's disappearance, but Barnes said they didn't have enough hard evidence for a warrant. Alfred and Bullock (Donal Logue) decided to go after Theo themselves with the help of Gordon.

After it was revealed that Lee (Morena Baccarin) is pregnant, Gordon was ready to skip town with his girlfriend, but he knew he couldn't walk away with Bruce in danger. Gordon, Bullock and Alfred got some help from Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) and Selina (Camren Bicondova) and were able to track down Bruce’s location just before Theo and Father Creel (Ron Rifkin) were ready to kill Bruce. Gordon and his team shot down Creel, but Theo and his sister Tabitha (Jessica Lucas) escaped.

Gordon was able to hunt Theo down after Tabitha and Silver got away. Gordon debated killing Theo since he got away with his crimes last time, but Barnes walked in and stopped him. When Barnes went to arrest Gordon, Penguin knocked out Barnes from behind and the two took Theo down to the water where Gordon shot and killed him. Gordon then went to meet up with Lee and asked her to marry him.

In the final seconds of episode 11, Mr. Freeze (Nathan Darrow) made his debut by freezing a man who was hiding from him. Freeze is expected to have a big role in the first few episodes of the second half of the season. Theo’s body was also shown being taken to the lab of Dr. Hugo Strange (BD Wong), who could have some dark experiments up his sleeve to bring the villain back to life.

"Gotham" Season 2 returns Monday, Feb. 29 on Fox at 8 p.m. EST
