BTS delivered an unforgettable performance of “Butter” at this year’s Grammy Awards that saw Jungkook descending from the MGM Grand Arena ceiling amid wild cheers from fans.

One by one, the rest of the members -- Suga, V, J-Hope, RM, Jimin -- appeared among the audience in dapper suits, while Jin was shown in one part of the stage pressing buttons in what seemed to be a technical booth.

After the opener, the group moved to the stage to perform “Butter” in a James Bond-inspired act which included laser lines and new choreography. The energy-filled performance was well-applauded by the audience who rose to a standing ovation after the musical number. Jin remained seated during the whole performance due to a previous injury on his left index finger.

The dance number was highly anticipated but the audience was surprised by a skit between Kim Taehyung, also known as V, and Best New Artist winner Olivia Rodrigo. Prior to the dance number, V sat next to Rodrigo and whispered in her ear. Later, he “magically” produced a card that supposedly surprised the 19-year-old performer.

The global sensation failed to get the trophy for this year's Best Pop Duo/Group Performance which went to Doja Cat featuring SZA for "Kiss Me More." In 2021, BTS’ “Dynamite” was nominated for the same category but also failed to get the award that went to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande for their recording of "Rain on Me."

Though Jungkook was reported to have tested positive for COVID-19 on March 29, he was declared clear of COVID-19 just in time for the boy band's performance at the Grammys. "Jungkook had been self-isolating and receiving treatment since the 27th (Sunday), U.S. local time, and according to the quarantine guidelines in the U.S., daily activities are possible from today. During quarantine, he developed a mild sore throat but has recovered,” a statement from Big Hit Music on Saturday read.

On Sunday, the group once again reigned on Twitter as loyal fans, known as ARMY, discussed their excitement regarding the impressive musical number.

“ BUTTER DANCE BRAKE ” a fan wrote alongside a full clip of BTS singing and dancing to “Butter.”

Another fan could not contain their excitement seeing Jungkook descending on the stage during the Grammys' performance and wrote, “This is very different omg JUNGKOOK WAS LITERALLY FLYING OVER THE STAGE.”

Meanwhile, one ARMY could not help but voice out their jealousy over V’s interaction with Rodrigo. "Never thought that the line 'You betrayed me' from Olivia's song Traitor, will ever be relatable than this," the ARMY wrote.
