“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14 might complicate many doctors’ love lives, but Arizona Robbins won’t have to worry about love triangles. It seems the pediatric surgeon’s exes will be staying away from Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

Executive producer Debbie Allen, who also plays Catherine Avery, told TVLine that Sara Ramirez will not appear in Season 14 of the ABC drama as Callie. “We love her and we miss her, [but] there’s been no discussion of it,” Allen said.

Callie, who shares daughter Sophia with Arizona (Jessica Capshaw), left Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital at the end of Season 12. The character took an opportunity to work in New York.

Arizona stayed behind in Seattle and she seemed to be finding new love with Eliza Minnick (Marika Dominczyk). Apparently, that relationship soured after Bailey (Chandra Wilson) fired the new doctor. As previously reported, Minnick won’t be in “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14 at all, but her absence will be discussed in the two-hour premiere.

“It’s very interesting how we address it,” Allen teased.

Capshaw previously hinted that the abrupt end of the relationship would affect Arizona going into the new season. “Well, I mean, I think she was on the way to being a little bit — I mean, she was super crushed out, but I think she was on the way to being a little in love, right,” the actress told E! Online. “And now her girlfriend gets fired. So what happens now? I think it’s a little bit of being in a wash cycle and sort of going ‘What happened and why and now what do I do?’”

While Arizona is looking for a love interest, other doctors will be dealing with too many loves. In last season’s finale, Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson) and Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) finally seemed ready to take the next step. However, Mer had to deliver the news that Rigg’s wife Megan (formerly played by Bridget Regan, but Abigail Spencer will take over this season) was found alive. It certainly sounds like a Meredith-Riggs-Megan love triangle is coming.

Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) will also face too many men with romantic feelings for her too. Alex Karev (Justin Chambers), of course, is still in love with Jo. Then there’s Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti), who Jo wouldn’t let admit his feelings for her last spring.

While she’s definitely not trying to get involved with her abusive ex-husband Paul (Matthew Morrison) again, he might be trying to find her. Morrison revealed his character is supposed to show up this season, and that means Jo could find out that Alex interfered.

Luddington speculated that Alex’s visit to Paul might not go over so well. “When Jo finds out that Alex did that, I don’t know what her reaction’s going to be,” Luddington told TV Guide. “I feel like it could go either way. They’re in a really interesting time in their relationship, and it’s very tricky. ... Do I think that it could push them even further away from each other? It’s definitely possible.”

Fans will just have to keep watching to find out which doctors find love. “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14 premieres Thursday, Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
