Over 22,000 pounds of frozen beef products were recalled this weekend due to the presence of milk, which was not included in the brand's ingredient list.

The recall was announced Saturday by Valley International Cold Storage Acquisition for its "Healthy Choice POWER BOWLS Korean-Style Beef," which comes in 9.25 oz. frozen meals.

"Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them," the Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service said in a release.

"These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase," it added.

The concern over the milk presence was highlighted when the company received consumer complaints that the Korean-Style Beef cartons contained a chicken-based product. An investigation showed that the product did contain chicken and a "pepper product with milk."

"The frozen products are labeled as Korean-Style Beef, but contain a chicken sausage and pepper product, which contains milk," the release said.

The recall impacts those who have milk or chicken allergies.

The products include lot code "5246220320" and a "best if used by" date of April 18, 2023.

Any consumers with questions about the recall can contact the Conagra Consumer Care line at 800-672-8152.
