Super humans are returning to try and save the world from total destruction once again on "Heroes Reborn." Five years ago they may have saved the cheerleader, but the world has not been saved. Before we see these evolved humans come back here's what happened on the series finale of the original "Heroes."

"Heroes" came to an end in February 2010, with "Brave New World." Noah Bennet (Jack Coleman) and Claire (Hayden Panettiere) were trapped underground by Samuel Sullivan (Robert Knepper), a leader of a carnival with the power to control earth with his mind. Noah believed he was going to die under the ground, while Claire would have to watch because she has the healing superpower and can't be killed. He asked her to hide her ability and try to live as normal human if he were to die.

Noah and Claire are saved by Tracy Strauss (Ali Larter), who used water to bring them back up to the surface. Noah, Claire and the rest of the heroes had to come together to stop Samuel, who was planning to use his power to kill thousands of people at the carnival in Central Park. Claire knew Samuel needed to be around other people with abilities to be at full power so she convinced the rest of the carnies that Samuel is evil and killed his brother Joseph, who was loved by all.

The carnies left Samuel, but he still tried to go forward with his plan. Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) used his ability to fly and took on Samuel's power to fight. The two battled it out in a tent, but the fight was even and neither one could overpower the other. Hiro (Masi Oka) and Ando (James Kyson) showed up and used their powers to transport all of the carnies away from the carnival, which left Samuel powerless and Peter was finally able to defeat him.

At the very end of the episode, Claire climbed up a Ferris wheel while the rest of the heroes looked on. They knew what she was going to do would change everything and Sylar (Zachary Quinto) said it will be a brave new world. Once she arrived at the top, Claire jumped off in front of several news cameras. When she landed, she got back up, popped her arm back into place and healed for all to see. She showed the world that there are people out there with incredible abilities.

"Heroes Reborn" will pick up five years after Claire showed her powers to the world. The first episode will also be titled "Brave New World," but people with abilities will be on the run following a terrorist attack in Odessa, Texas, that's being blamed on evolved humans.

The two-hour premiere of "Heroes Reborn" airs Thursday, Sept. 24 on NBC at 8 p.m. EDT
