Heroes Reborn spinoff spoilers
"Heroes Reborn" will premiere in 2015 on NBC. Heroes

“Heroes Reborn” will swoop down from the sky and save us from TV boredom when the “Heroes” spinoff graces our small screens in 2015. And fans will spot a familiar face when the science-fiction drama finally makes its debut.

Jack Coleman will reprise his role as Noah Bennet, according to Deadline. For those who don’t recall Bennet, he rocked some serious horn-rimmed glasses as the devoted dad to Hayden Panettiere’s character Claire, a supernatural teen.

The news is surprising because earlier reports said that the creator of the original series, Tim Kring, would introduce a new storyline in addition to a slew of new characters. In an interview with the website Zap2it in April, "Heroes" star Ali Larter said that she was "super happy" for Kring and "Heroes Reborn."

“When I saw that, I was like, 'Wow! Great!' I'm super happy for [creator Tim Kring], and if that's what he wants to do I think that's fantastic," Larter told Zap2it. "I haven't talked to the rest of the cast. I don't even think it's written yet, so I don't even know what they're going to do with it.”

Panettiere, who played Claire, a supernatural teen in the original series, told Cosmopolitan magazine that she wasn't asked to join the 2015 NBC "Heroes Reborn" miniseries. In fact, the actress said that she didn't even know about it (she says that she learn about the miniseries from her cousin). "I mean, we had nothing, nothing to do with it; it will definitely be interesting to see how they reinvent that," Panettiere told the magazine.

"It's a little bit of an interesting feeling because you go, 'That was our show, our home, our family,' something that we had a major part in creating as well, and, I mean, I hope that they don't have somebody else playing our characters. That would be a little dagger in the heart. But, you never know. I wish them success in it, for sure."

NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke has teased that fans shouldn’t “rule out the possibility of some of the show’s original cast members popping back in.”

Does this mean viewers can anticipated Coleman’s TV daughter returning to the spinoff? Now that’s a family reunion we’re actually excited for.
