Georgia Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker endorsed "gas-guzzling cars" that get "good emissions" at a rally Sunday in Peachtree City.

Walker faces a runoff election on Dec. 6 against Democrat Sen. Raphael Warnock, who leads Walker 49.4% to 48.5%. A candidate needs 50% to win the election.

"What we need to do is keep having those gas-guzzling cars, because we got good emissions out of those cars," Walker said.

Walker also said if the U.S. was ready for "the Green Agenda," he would raise his hand in support.

In August, Walker criticized Democrats' spending to combat global warming. "Don't we have enough trees around here?" Walker asked.

Climate change is expected to remain a major issue in 2023.

Democrats have held onto the Senate but a victory for Warnock would strengthen the chances of bills getting passed due to potential opposition from within the party.

"As we make history at home by implementing unprecedented climate and clean energy action delivered in the Inflation Reduction Act, we cannot turn our back on the rest of the world," said Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass, in a letter to President Joe Biden on Nov. 4. "Climate change is a global challenge, and as frontline nations face immense loss and damage wrought by environmental disasters caused largely by other nation's longtime climate negligence, ours included, we must step up and deliver once again for vulnerable people around the world."
