A new trailer of “His Dark Materials” has been released online, revealing the storylines the fans can expect to see in the rest of the first season. The orphan Lyra’s (Dafne Keen) magical journey has just started after the first episode, and she is set to meet some exciting new friends and dangerous enemies in this journey.

For the readers who know the story, Lyra will take an expected path in her journey. The “weeks ahead” trailer that HBO released online recently shows the character going on a journey to uncover the secret about the lost children, and all her answers lie in the north in the snowy mountains.

She will need friends in this fight, and arguably the biggest friend she will make is the polar bear Iorek Byrnison (Joe Tanberg), who she will help rescue. The journey to help rescue children will turn into a journey across parallel universes, and this is a quest that will put her in conflict with the Magisterium.

The key to fighting the Magisterium in “His Dark Materials” will be the mysterious alethiometer, another trailer of the TV series reveals. Only Lyra has the ability to read the strange device.

In a promo video that has been released by HBO, Keen said that the story about her character Lyra is about her ability to do great things, even though she is told repeatedly by multiple people that she can’t do certain things. The young actress pointed out that people can achieve whatever they want no matter if they are a boy or a girl.

Lyra loves to explore the world, and that is why she is constantly running around and jumping on top of rooftops, Keen explained. While she is mostly a fun person, Keen teased that her character has a dark side to her that comes from being an orphan living with people who are much older than her. But, the fans will have to wait until episode 5 to see this side of her.

The next episode of “His Dark Materials” airs on Nov. 11 at 9 p.m. EST on HBO.
