New Year’s Eve is a night to celebrate. The libations will be flowing and the ringing in of the New Year will commence. But before you head out on New Year’s Eve, you need to consider how you will get home once the partying has come to an end. There are several ways to get discounted rides on New Year’s Eve and Day 2019 from Lyft, Uber, and other public transportation services that can make sure you start the New Year’s off safe.

Uber

Miller Lite has partnered with Uber for safe rides home on New Year’s, so you’ll want to take advantage of the discount they are offering for first-time riders. Use the MILLERTIME18 promo code to get up to $15 off your first ride when you sign up with Uber. This offer is valid through Feb. 27.

Lyft

There are several ways to get discounted rides with Lyft this New Year’s as the company has partnered with several organizations through the U.S. to make safe rides home a priority this holiday.

Jack Daniels has partnered with Lyft in Chicago to offer 25 percent off rides (up to $5) with the code JDNYE18. Also, the first 2,000 Lyft riders in St. Louis, Kansas City, Springfield, and Columbia, Missouri, can claim up to $25 off their ride through 4 a.m. CST on New Year’s Day using the promo code MBSHNYE18.

In Maricopa County, Arizona, existing Lyft customers can use the code JOY18 for 20 percent off two rides while Louisiana riders will get $5 off their fares with the promo code RIDESMARTLA. In Texas, use the promo code NYEPLAN18 on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 until 4 a.m. for a discounted ride with the rideshare service.

Public Transportation Services

Miller Lite is also sponsoring free rides with public bus and train services in the Quad Cities of Iowa and Illinois, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Chicago, Illinois, and the Twin Cities in Minnesota.

Austin, Texas, offers free rides from 5 p.m. CST on New Year’s Eve until 2:30 a.m. CST on New Year’s Day on the Capital Metro’s MetroRail and MetroRapid. Chicago is also offering free rides from 10 p.m. CST on Dec. 31 to 4 a.m. CST on Jan. 1 on the CTA train.

In Los Angeles, California, you can score a free ride home on the Metro Rail service from 9 p.m. PST on Dec 31, to 2 a.m. PST on Jan. 1. Even Minneapolis is also offering free train rides on the Metro Transit from 6 p.m. CST on Dec. 31 to 3 a.m. on Jan. 1.

There also free rides available on public bus systems in Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, and the Quad Cities as well as Davenport, Iowa, and Rock Island and Moline, Illinois.
