New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is arguably one of the best to play in the NFL and part of that has to do with his reliability to win. While there are other quarterbacks who deserve praise, many NFL legends agree that Brady is the best quarterback to play in the league’s history.

Out of the six times the Patriots went to the Super Bowl since Brady was drafted in 2000, they won four times. The only other quarterbacks who won four titles are Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw. Both of the times Brady lost, in 2008 and 2012, was to quarterback Eli Manning and his New York Giants.

With Brady as their quarterback, the Patriots beat the St. Louis Rams in 2002, the Carolina Panthers in 2004, the Philadelphia Eagles in 2005 and the Seattle Seahawks in 2015.

If Brady won the Super Bowl Sunday, he would make history as the first quarterback to win five Super Bowl rings. “I think you’d be hard-pressed not to name [Brady] as the greatest now regardless of what happens on Sunday. That question that was once such an easy question for me to answer is now not so easy,” former Dallas Cowboys star Troy Aikman said at a press conference Monday.

“He wants to be the greatest,” Aikman said about Brady. “You certainly could make an argument for him now, regardless of what happens on Sunday. It’s been an amazing career, and he’s highly motivated, taking advantage of the years that he has and it’s been impressive to watch.”

The New England Patriots are slated to take on the Atlanta Falcons for Super Bowl 51 Sunday at NRG Stadium in Houston. Kickoff time is at 6:30 p.m. EST.
