Queen Elizabeth II has been outwardly supportive of Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and their decision to move away from their royal duties to Canada. However, according to one royal expert, in particular, that’s where the peace ends.

“The Queen spoke warmly of Meghan in her statement,” U.K.-based royal expert Neil Sean told Fox News. “But the truth is she is baffled as to why she opted out, as the Queen really gave her such a warm welcome and that is the thanks she got.”

The Markle and Queen drama may stem from the Duchess of Sussex's apparent lack of communication and claims that she reportedly never discussed her “unhappiness” with Her Majesty directly. So when Markle and Prince Harry announced they were leaving their senior roles earlier this month, it came as quite a shock to Queen Elizabeth. According to Sean, the way Markle and Prince Harry handled the situation is “more than rude to the monarch.”

In an Instagram post shared by Sussex Royal, the Queen stated that she is “particularly proud of how Meghan has so quickly become one of the family.” However, Sean feels that the royal couple, who revealed in their official statement their plan to divide their time between the U.K. and North America, hopping across the pond is unlikely.

Without an apparent strong relationship with the Queen or any royal duties to perform, Markle would have no reason to leave Canada to visit Sussex or anywhere in the U.K. for that matter. Unless, of course, they are specifically invited by the Queen herself.
