Amazon founder Jeff Bezos' girlfriend Lauren Sanchez may not be anywhere near as wealthy as he is, but she also has a considerable fortune of her own and has found success as a news anchor and entertainment reporter.

The 52-year-old New Mexico native is currently worth an estimated $30 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Sanchez began her media career as a desk assistant at KCOP-TV in Los Angeles before going on to become an anchor and reporter for KTVK-TV in Phoenix and "Extra," according to South China Morning Post.

She worked for Fox Sports Net, where she earned multiple Emmy nominations, and other news outlets like KTTV as well as appeared on "The View."

Sanchez, who was featured in People magazine's "50 Most Beautiful" issue in 2010 and Us Weekly's "Hot Bodies" issue, became the original host of Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance" in 2005. Between 2011 and 2017, she served as co-host on Fox’s "Good Day L.A."

In addition to being a reporter and TV host, she's also ventured into acting.

Sanchez made cameo appearances in TV shows such as "NCIS" and "Days of Our Lives" as well as movies such as "Fight Club," "Killer Movie," "The Day After Tomorrow," "Fantastic Four," "We Bought a Zoo" and "The Longest Yard," among others.

Sanchez is also a licensed helicopter pilot. In 2016, she founded Black Ops Aviation, the first female-owned aerial film and production company.

She continues to occasionally work on "Good Day L.A.," "Extra" and other TV shows, but she now mainly focuses on film and TV projects that allow her to use her skills as a pilot, The Sun reported.

Sanchez served as a consultant on Christopher Nolan's "Dunkirk" and worked as an aerial producer on director Catherine Hardwicke's film "Miss Bala," starring Gina Rodriguez. She was also hired to film aerial shots for Bezos' company Blue Origin, Page Six reported.

As for her personal life, Sanchez’s first notable relationship was with former NFL tight end Tony Gonzalez. The two share a son, 21-year-old Nikko.

In 2005, she married Patrick Whitesell, a notable Hollywood agent and one of the two primary partners in Endeavor, which owns the UFC as well as agencies IMG and WME. He reportedly has a net worth of $300 million. Together, they share 15-year-old son Evan and 14-year-old daughter Eleanor Patricia.

Sanchez was thrust into the limelight into 2019 after Bezos and his then-wife MacKenzie Scott said they were getting divorced in January that year after 25 years of marriage. Hours after they announced the divorce, the National Enquirer reported that Bezos was dating Sanchez.

Sanchez filed for divorce from Whitesell in April 2019, just a day after Bezos and Scott announced that their divorce agreement had been finalized. Scott reportedly walked away with 25% of Bezos' fortune, or about $36 billion.

There has been speculation that Bezos and Sanchez are engaged, but they have yet to confirm this.

In November 2021, the couple reportedly bought an estate in La Perouse Bay in Hawaii for $78 million. The estate's 4,500-square-foot main house and 1,700-square-foot guesthouse sit on a 14-acre lot.

Bezos' net worth stands at $178.9 billion today, according to Forbes.
