Apple's iPad Pro is considered the best tablet among many in several key aspects. Apple's powerhouse tablet is useful in various fields, and is powerful enough that it can effectively replace some laptops despite being a tablet.

The iPad Pro's features, however, aren't enough to help Apple maintain the top spot in the Chinese tablet market. According to statistics released by the global market intelligence firm International Data Corporation (IDC), local tech giant Huawei took the lead in tablet shipments in the third quarter of 2019, Chinese state media Xinhua reported.

The Chinese tech giant shipped out a total of 2.12 million units (24.4 percent higher than the amount of units it shipped from a year ago), and accounted for 37.4 percent of all tablets shipped in the market. Apple, on the other hand, fell to second place with a 33.8-percent share.

Huawei consumer business CEO Yu Chengdong said during the MatePad Pro launch event a few days ago that Huawei's MediaPad M6 is the best-selling flagship tablet the company had in its history, Gizchina reported. This device, which comes in 8.4-inch and 10.8-inch sizes, was announced in June and released a month later.

Chengdong credits the MediaPad M6 for making Huawei the number one Chinese tablet maker in the market, specifically during Q3 2019. The Huawei executive emphasized that the company even rose to top spot during this period despite its inclusion in the Entity List.

Patently Apple noted that Huawei is intent on overtaking Apple and is working on its answer to the iPad Pro called the MatePad Pro. The new device, which is slated for release in December, has a 10.8-inch display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600. The new device has thinner bezels and a slimmer body. It is powered by a Kirin 990 backed by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

The upcoming tablet, which is meant to take on the iPad Pro, is designed with productivity in mind. It has a magnetic keyboard, a pressure-sensitive stylus/pen, a huge 7,225 mAh battery and 40W fast-charging technology. It also has reverse wireless charging that will allow users to charge other devices on the go.
