A man burned down an entire building while trying to kill a snake. The incident took place in Guyana on Tuesday.

According to local reports, the man, an unidentified security guard, saw a snake inside a tire. In an attempt to kill the reptile, the man set the tire on fire. He then fell asleep and woke up to the smell of smoke. He was shocked to see that the entire building was on fire. Firefighters were called to the scene who managed to control the blaze. The building was completely destroyed.

Investigation revealed that the fire caught on other tires that were stored near the building. It soon spread to the entire structure. There were several abandoned buildings in the compound, which housed government staff two decades ago. However, none of the abandoned buildings were affected by the blaze.

The fire, however, managed to spread to nearby empty lands which had dry grass. Nobody was injured in the incident and it was not known if the reptile was killed in the blaze.

Investigation into the incident was underway and the security guard was detained for questioning.
