The Republican Party witch hunt targeting Hunter Biden is gathering steam as his father and former Vice President Joe Biden has become the frontrunner for the Democratic ticket to unseat president Donald Trump on Nov. 3.

The junior Biden's messy personal affairs, especially his alleged refusal to pay child support to the mother of his love child and to release his financial records as she demanded, are being used by the GOP on the inference that these records might reveal corruption by his father in the now-debunked Burisma scandal. Hunter was on the board of the Ukrainian energy company when the senior Biden was the vice president to Barack Obama.

Lunden Alexis Roberts from Arkansas, the mother of a child by Hunter, claimed the latter should be held in contempt for continuing to defy a court order to turn over his financial information. In her filing, she accused Hunter of flaunting his lack of respect for the legal process and undermining the interests of the child he previously refused to support, or even acknowledge. Roberts' filing is part of an ongoing paternity case seeking to compel Biden to pay child and maternal support.

Roberts also claimed Hunter "continues to act as though he has no respect for this court, its orders, the legal process in this state, or the needs of his child for support." Her lawyers argued the court "should take some action that will make the defendant follow court orders and a believer in the rule of law."

Roberts wants Hunter to reveal information about his address, financial institutions he or his businesses use, a list of all the companies he "currently owns or in which he has an ownership interest and the state in which those companies are incorporated," and a list of "all sources of income for the past five years," among other things.

The Republican National Committee dug its claws into the controversy by resurrecting the specter of the Burisma scandal once again.

"After months of hiding, one has to wonder if the reason Hunter Biden continues to defy the court is because there are financial documents that could shed light on his father’s massive conflicts of interest as vice president," said RNC spokesman Steve Guest to Fox News on Sunday.

Roberts gave birth to her love child with Hunter in August 2018. Hunter's paternity has been proven by a DNA test he willingly submitted to. His submitted to the test to prove that he didn't father this child but it proved Hunter's paternity with "scientific certainty."

Roberts filed her paternity suit last May at the Independence County Circuit Court in Arkansas. The lawsuit came about two weeks after Hunter married South African Melissa Cohen, 33, on May 16, 2019, after a whirlwind romance lasting all of six days.

Hunter is “not expected to challenge the results of the DNA test or the testing process,” according to Roberts’ filing.

The baby’s “paternal grandfather, Joe Biden, is seeking the nomination of the Democratic Party for President of the United States of America,” said Roberts in her suit. “He is considered by some to be the person most likely to win his party’s nomination and challenge President Trump on the ballot in 2020.”

Roberts seeks to have the name, date of birth and “all other identifying information” of her child, referred to as “Baby Doe,” sealed from the public when the court issues a paternity order.

Her filing argues that “members of the Biden family either are protected or eligible to be protected by the United States Secret Service as a direct result of Joe Biden’s political status.” On the other hand, “Baby Doe’s paternity could put the child and those close to the child at risk of harm.”
