Just a week after announcing the group’s temporary break from official activities, BTS’ management label, Hybe Entertainment, released teasers of an upcoming webtoon featuring the Korean global superstars.

Hybe Entertainment on Sunday released on its webtoon-dedicated YouTube page, a 15-second clip of “7 Fates: Chakho,” the BTS-led webtoon slated for release in January 2022.

The short clip opens with Jin looking at a mysterious magical light floating above him. This is followed by others members seemingly reaching for the light and ends with Jungkook and RM holding the ball of light on their palms.

Earlier, Hybe Entertainment said the story of “7 Fates: Chakho” revolves around seven men who are bound by fate to rid their community of “monsters.”

“It is an urban fantasy set in a city in the near future and inspired by the tiger hunters of the Joseon Dynasty. It will combine old stories of tradition with Hybe's own imagination," the agency said, as per Koreaboo.

In ancient times, South Korea was home to a high population of Siberian tigers that attacked communities and struck fear among residents who were almost powerless against the hungry tigers. As a response, King Sejong formed the Chakhogapsa or the tiger hunters in 1421. The Chakhogapsa were special forces with incomparable hunting abilities who are known to hit their targets accurately even while riding horses.

"7Fates: CHAKHO” is set to be launched on Naver's webtoon portal on Jan. 15, 2022. It follows BTS' hugely successful time travel webtoon, "Save Me," which dropped in 2019.

Aside from the video teaser, Hybe Entertainment also released photos of Jin, RM, Jimin, Jungkook, V, Suga, and J-Hope with a caption, “7 Fates,” as shared by Soompi.

The webtoon will also feature popular creatures from Korean folklore such as "Dokkaebi" or trickster goblins, and "Bulgasalyi,” a monster that feeds on metal scraps.

“7 Fates: CHAKHO” will be released as a web comic on Naver Webtoon and as a web novel on Wattpad on Jan. 14.

Hybe announced in November that it would be releasing original webtoon stories starring BTS and two other boy groups under its management, TXT and Enhypen.

TXT and Enhypen will be featured in the fantasy webtoons -- “Star Seekers” and “Dark Moon,” respectively. These webtoons will also be released in January.
