A test comparing the battery life of some of today’s flagship devices revealed that the new iPhone 11 Pro Max offers the most battery juice and will last long enough even with strenuous use.

According to a battery life test conducted by 23-year-old Arun Maini, a Youtuber who professes to be passionate about technology, the iPhone 11 Pro Max was able to outlast its siblings the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11, as well as top competitors Huawei Mate 30 Pro and Samsung Galaxy Note 10+.

Before proceeding into the specifics, it’s worth noting that the phones involved in the test are all different from each other in terms of battery sizes, display sizes and display resolutions.

The Huawei Mate 30 Pro has the largest battery among the phones in the test, having a massive 4,500 mAh battery. The Galaxy Note 10+ follows with a 4,300 mAh battery. The iPhone 11 lineup follows that, with the iPhone 11 Pro Max having a 3,969 mAh battery, the iPhone 11 Pro with a 3,190 mAh battery and the iPhone 11 with a mere 3,046 mAh battery.

Maini subjected all phones to the same testing procedure. He charged all phones to 100 percent, set them up so they have the same brightness and volume levels as well as the same connectivity settings and let them run the same apps, games and processes.

The Youtuber used commonly used apps to simulate everyday use. He used Instagram, Camera apps, 3D Games, music streaming and more, since these apps and games represent how the average person uses his smartphone. He monitored the time using the stopwatch on another phone.

The test revealed that the iPhone 11 was the first to go zero battery at 5 hours and 2 minutes. 9To5Mac noted that this is enough for everyday use, considering that the average user won’t open all those apps and games like Maini did non-stop.

The iPhone 11 is overtaken by the Galaxy Note 10+ which, with its larger battery, managed to last 6 hours and 31 minutes. The iPhone 11 Pro, however, managed to last longer with 6 hours and 42 minutes of continued use.

The Mate 30 Pro, which has the largest battery in the test, lasted 8 hours and 13 minutes. That’s quite long, but not long enough for the iPhone 11 Pro Max which lasted a bit longer at 8 hours and 32 minutes. This will extend further when Apple releases Smart Battery cases for the new iPhone models. Watch the battery life test video below for more details.
