One of Jadon Sancho’s mentors is certain he has something vital to bring to Manchester United’s table.

Ahead of Sancho’s Manchester United debut, his former coach at Watford, Louis Lancaster, shared an interesting insight about how the winger would fit in on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s system.

Speaking recently on the Stretford Paddock official YouTube Channel, Lancaster recounted the time he pinned down Sancho to assess his game and unveil his “signature move.”

According to Lancaster, the young Sancho was quick to respond with “attack,” and from that point on, they have always rooted for “goal contributions.”

"I remember a fitting story about table tennis, I'm quite an avid player but I remember that you can only get in the top ten in the world if you have a signature move, a weapon, something to kill people. You can't be 8/10 across the board,” Lancaster recalled. "I remember telling this story to Jadon and saying 'what's your signature move? What do you want to do?' His eyes lit up and he said 'attack'.”

"From then on our plan was always about goal contributions, forward passes, goals, assists, then after that, it was about the commitment,” he continued. "Most players you have to remind them to prove how much you care about your career, but he was so driven.”

Whether it is a coincidence or not, Solskjaer had earlier admitted that his squad was lacking consistency and depth in its attack.

For Lancaster, Sancho could be the player who can fill those voids. Hence, he also predicted that the soon-to-be Red Devil will even be of great help to Manchester United’s attacking veterans like Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes and Edinson Cavani.

"Firstly, he's [Sancho] going to bring goals and assists,” the coach assessed. “He's not a one-season wonder anymore, he's proved that he's been consistent. His numbers are off the charts. I think he's getting one goal or assist per game. He's making the most successful dribbles in Europe, the most entries into the box, so that's where he is going to excel.”

"But I think Jadon's greatest quality is that he can add to other people's games,” he added. “So though you have spent money and signed one player, I think you're going to get a better Bruno [Fernandes], a better [Paul] Pogba, [Edinson] Cavani. I think that's his greatest skill-set, adding value to other people's games."
