  • Jameela Jamil slammed Piers Morgan on social media after his “Good Morning Britain” exit
  • The actress said she almost committed suicide because of the broadcaster’s lies
  • Jamil is glad to be alive to witness Morgan’s departure from the show

Jameela Jamil has unapologetically slammed Piers Morgan after the broadcaster’s exit from “Good Morning Britain” in the aftermath of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Morgan, 55, quit his work on the British breakfast program after receiving backlash for his attacks against Markle. For months, he has been expressing his harsh opinions on Prince Harry’s wife publicly and just recently, he called out Markle for allegedly crafting lies during her interview with Oprah.

During his last appearance on “GMB,” Morgan said he “didn’t believe a word that [Meghan] said” in her interview, including the duchess’ shocking revelation that the royal family had issues with her son Archie’s skin color even before he was born. Morgan was quickly grilled by the show’s weather presenter Alex Beresford and this led to Piers walking off the set of the program and eventually announcing his departure from it.

After watching all the drama unfold on the television show, Jamil couldn’t help but air her sentiments on the controversial broadcaster on social media. The star of “The Good Place” called out Morgan and dropped a bombshell when she revealed that she almost took her life because of him.

“I almost killed myself a year ago because of Piers Morgan’s relentless campaign of lies and hatred against me last February,” the 35-year-old radio presenter and model wrote on Twitter Tuesday.

“I’m glad I’m still alive today for many reasons. Watching him leave GMB today is right up there and has me feeling,” she added along with a GIF of her posing on the red carpet looking so fierce.

In February 2020, Jamil and Morgan had a heated exchange online when the latter released a text message from the late “Love Island” host Caroline Flack that allegedly said something about Jamil. At the time, the actress claimed Morgan used her dead friend to inflict more harassment on her, as per E! News.

“May we NEVER have to watch minorities have to go on mainstream news and have to *defend* their right to be treated with dignity and respect… ever again. All while being screamed over by this man. @GMB,” Jamil wrote in another tweet that featured a GIF of Morgan.

Jamil didn’t stop there as she also suggested that hearing about Morgan’s exit from the show made her day. She also indirectly lauded Beresford for speaking up against Morgan and expressed her hope for the former to replace the latter on the show for good.

“OH MY GOD IS IT MY BIRTHDAY AGAIN?! I hope @alexberesfordTV replaces his role. What a gent,” she wrote alongside a copy of a news report about Morgan’s “GMB” exit.

While Morgan has been a harsh critic of of the former “Suits” actress, Jamil has made her compassion toward Markle known on several occasions, including that time when she slammed the palace for releasing embarrassing stories about her pal ahead of the duchess’ Oprah interview, according to Page Six.

In August, Jamil clashed with Morgan online after the broadcaster attacked Markle for speaking about the presidential election in the U.S. She pointed out that there was nothing wrong with what Markle did because she was just supporting the people voting in her home country.
