James Gunn called out a scammer who posted a fake casting call for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3."

The director of the movie took to Twitter on Tuesday to reply to a fan, who highlighted this post on Twitter. This fake casting call post was originally shared on Instagram Story from a profile named nine9dotcom.

A fan took a screenshot and shared on Twitter, "Complete scam!!!! @JamesGunn finished shooting I think a week ago." Gunn quickly replied, "It is definitely a scam. We finished shooting almost a month ago."

Celebs and fans took to the comments section to share their reactions.

Actor Nhut Le, who played Judomaster in Gunn's last release "Peacemaker," jokingly replied in the comments: "…so I didn’t need to send them nudes for costuming purposes? ffffuc"

Canadian actor Devon Sawa also commented, "So you didn’t watch my tape?"

"Even worse they're hosting regular mass zoom calls to get people to pay them 99$ plus monthly service fees to have opportunities for GoTG," a fan called out the scammers. "They're getting people to pay live while pressuring people on the call who aren't sending in payments."

Gunn replied to this comment, "Okay this is disgusting. People should beware of companies like @Nine9dotCOM, ripping off people & taking advantage of their dreams. Once again, this casting call is bullshit: we finished shooting a month ago."

When one of the users tagged the scammer's profile and asked, "why you scammin? Tsk tsk," the director also replied, "I have the same question."

In a separate tweet, the director also revealed that "The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special" has been also done filming.

Aside from calling out the fake casting company, the director also introduced a member of his family on Tuesday.

"Meet Ozu, the newest member of our family," Gunn shared. "Ozu was two hours away from being put down at a kill-shelter when @WagmorPets saved him & about 30 of his brethren. He was living outside with little to no human contact."

On the work front, Gunn's "The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special" is slated to release in December this year while "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" is scheduled for May 5, 2023 release.
