Actress, author and dancer Jenna Dewan has opened up about the hardships she had faced after the birth of her daughter, Everly.

In the latest episode of Dear Media's podcast "Dear Gabby," the "Step Up" actress recalled that she was alone after giving birth to Everly in 2013. Her ex-husband Channing Tatum was not present with her at the time.

The 40-year-old actress welcomed her son, Calum, last year with her fiancé Steve Kazee.

Dewan got all nostalgic while talking about her postpartum journey. She said she had to travel to the sets of "Witches Of East End" all by herself with her newborn daughter, while Tatum was busy with his own work.

"I had to travel with her and at the time, Chan wasn't available to be with us for the most part," she explained. "So, it was me, my doula, and Evie all by ourselves traveling at six weeks."

She also admitted it was hard juggling her career and motherhood. "That was really hard because that was long hours," she said. "I did have her on set with me constantly. It was just really difficult."

The actress even experienced postpartum anxiety. "And I had a lot of postpartum anxiety I would say, it was like, I just never stopped. You know, you're up a couple times in the night and then you're working all day. I was breastfeeding, I was pumping, I was without a partner, I mean it was just craziness."

The "American Horror Story" alum split with Tatum in 2018 after being together for a decade. her daughter was born in 2013.

About welcoming her second child amid the coronavirus pandemic, Dewan said, "This time around, I was so grounded, even though the world was crazy, I was home and in this love nest and it was different."

Jenna, who is now engaged to Kazee, says she is not able to plan her wedding, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"It's so funny, we hadn't even had a chance to talk much about our wedding," she told The Knot last week. "A month after we got engaged, I had Callum, and then a week later, [coronavirus] quarantine began. We just put everything on pause."
