Ever since Jessa Duggar tied the knot to Ben Seewald last year, fans of TLC's “19 Kids and Counting” have been anxiously waiting for the new bride to announce she is expecting. While her sister and co-star Jill Duggar revealed her pregnancy just one month after tying the knot on the series' Season 9 premiere Tuesday, it has been confirmed that viewers most likely will not see Jessa with a baby bump anytime soon.

In an interview with People magazine, the 22-year-old reality show star revealed she is not planning a pregnancy — despite rumors she is already with child — and is instead focusing on the possibility of adoption.

“If God blesses us with biological kids of our own, it’s not going to quench our desire to adopt,” Jessa said. And while it remains to be seen if Jessa and Ben, 19, will one day raise a brood of 19 like her parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, the couple said they're definitely not stopping at one child.

“We hope to adopt a lot of kids,” Jessa said. “Kids are so important,” Ben added.

With three months of marriage under their belt — the couple tied the knot in Bentonville, Arkansas, Nov. 1 — Jessa and Ben are looking into the adoption process.

One week ahead of the couple's interview with People, Jessa spoke out about her desire to adopt in the February issue of Celebrate Arkansas magazine. “We would love to have children of our own, and we would also love to adopt. It’s something we’re constantly praying about,” she said.

Catch up with Jessa, Ben and the rest of the Duggar clan on Season 9 of “19 Kids and Counting.” New episodes air Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on TLC.
