Jessa (Duggar) Seewald’s fans are not the only ones being kept in the dark about the gender of her baby. The former “19 Kids and Counting” star has revealed that only she and her husband, Ben Seewald, know whether they’re having a girl or boy.

Speaking to the Duggar Family Blog, Jessa revealed she has not announced her child’s gender to her parents or 18 siblings. The 22-year-old mom-to-be confirmed she and Ben, 20, learned their baby’s gender at 19 weeks but chose to keep it a secret. “Ben was okay with keeping it a surprise, but I just couldn’t wait. I had to know!” she said. “We decided at that point that we would keep it to ourselves and let it be a surprise for the rest of the Seewald and Duggar extended families when the baby is born.”

While Jessa and Ben have not let their baby’s gender slip, Jessa says it hasn’t been easy. “I always want to use pronouns like 'he/she' in conversation but have had to focus on saying 'the baby' instead," she said. "We’re so looking forward to baby’s birth and the big reveal!"

While everyone will have to wait until next month to discover the baby’s sex, the expectant couple has given their baby a nickname. According to the blog post, they are calling their child “Quincy.” Jessa said the nickname came about while discussing baby names with Ben.

“When we first found out that we were expecting a baby, Ben and I were talking about a letter theme for our kids and Ben suggested, 'Why don’t we go with the letter ‘Q’?" Jessa said. “From that point, Ben started calling our little one 'Quincy' and the nickname just sorta stuck.”

Jessa hinted that Quincy will most likely not be their child’s official moniker. She said they’re leaning toward names that have “lots of meaning” behind them, such as “great heroes of Christian faith.” She also revealed they will most likely not stick with a specific letter theme like her parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. As most "19 Kids and Counting" fans are aware, all of Jim Bob and Michelle's 19 children have names beginning with "J."

Jessa and Ben are due to welcome their little one Nov. 1, which is also their one-year wedding anniversary. The couple will chronicle their baby journey for a TLC special.
