Jimmy Kimmel recently shared happy news to her fans regarding his 6-month-old son, Billy.

After battling congenital heart disease several months ago, the “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” host revealed that Billy is “healthy and happy.” On his Instagram account, he shared an adorable photo of the young boy with a huge smile on his face. In his caption, Kimmel thanked everyone who prayed for Billy. He also gave a shout out to Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles where Billy was treated.

During a recent interview with “Today,” Kimmel dished on the public debate he got involved with in May after he announced his son’s condition. When asked what he thinks Billy would say when he sees his dad tearfully talking about him on television, Kimmel said, “I just know he’s not really going to care, and also known he’s my son, he’s probably going to make fun of me for it.”

The doting dad also said that he doesn’t want Billy to experience the kind of pain he felt when he found out that he had congenital heart disease. “My problems and my worries shouldn’t be his problems and worries. I think he’s going to have enough to worry about growing up with his questionable heart in his body, and I just want him to worry about hitting a home run in Little League,” he said.

According to People, Kimmel and his wife, Molly McNearney, found out that Billy would have to undergo open heart surgery three days after he was born. Months later, he told The Hollywood Reporter that Billy would have to go under the knife again for two more procedures.

“He has to have two more open heart surgeries. We would like to get him over with and not have to think about it all the time, but it could definitely get worse,” he said at that time.

But even then, Kimmel already told the publication that Billy has been doing great. “He is very interested in ceiling fans. He likes those a lot. I could get him to pay the same amount for Netflix just to watch ceiling fans,” he joked.
