Jon Gosselin has expressed his sorrow after his children failed to reach out to him when he was diagnosed with the coronavirus.

The 43-year-old television personality recently opened up about his strained relationship with his kids with ex-wife Kate Gosselin, 45. In a preview of his interview on “The Dr. Oz Show” (via Entertainment Tonight) that is airing Friday, Gosselin was asked if his kids reached out to him after he was found to have contracted the COVID-19 virus.

“Did you ever hear from any of the kids that are with Kate or are in college after it was made public that you had COVID, not just had COVID but were deathly ill, could've died?” host Dr. Mehmet Oz asked the father of eight.

“No, I didn't hear from them. I think Hannah might have told Leah… No, I haven't heard anything from them,” he responded before added, “There’s just a disconnect.”

Jon and Kate share eight children: twins Cara and Madelyn (20) and sextuplets Collin, Hannah, Aaden, Alexis, Leah and Joel (16). They starred on their own reality show “Jon & Kate Plus 8” that started in 2007. The show title was eventually changed to “Kate Plus 8” when the couple divorced in 2009 and it wrapped up in 2017.

Jon has custody of his two children, Hannah and Collin, since 2018. But he hasn’t seen the rest of his kids for some time now as they are residing with Kate, according to Us Weekly.

In the teaser clip, Gosselin admitted that there’s nothing he could do about it because he couldn’t go to where they are currently staying due to the legalities involved.

“Whether it's parent alienation, I can’t really reach out to them and there’s legalities. I can’t go to where they move, it would be trespassing,” he said.

Jon tested positive for the coronavirus early this year. In an interview on the same show in January, he revealed that he was hospitalized and was even close to being put on a ventilator.

Even though his kids did not reach out to him during the time when he needed them the most, Gosselin assured them that he has no hard feelings and that they are very welcome to come to his house.

“I guess my plight to them or what I really want to say is I love you, my door is always open, you're welcome anytime, there's no regrets or hard feelings or any of those negative things. You can always come see me or come see Hannah and Collin,” he said.
