Love him or hate him, he is going great guns. Justin Bieber made the highest Billboard debut again with his latest track Boyfriend on Wednesday grabbing the No. 2 position on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

The Canadian pop singer's new single with an amazingly nice beat, an obviously mature voice and rapping talent has made its way into millions of hearts.

The teen star, whose Twitter account with more than 19 million fans recently got hacked, has 41 million fans following him on Facebook, was at No. 8 last year with his Never Say Never track, and Baby got him to No. 5 position in 2008.

Boyfriend was played 3,961 times on US radio in its first week, an average of 31 plays on each station, reports chicagotribune.com.

So who beat the 18-year-old singer? It was the band Fun with their single We are Young, featuring Janelle Monae, which sold 363,000 digital copies last week.

It is the second-best debut sales week of all time for a single after Flo Rida's Right Round that fared better by garnering around 636,000 downloads in its opening week in February 2009.

Although, Bieber sold more copies of his song than We Are Young, Boyfriend ranked second because the Billboard chart considers not just sales, but also airplay and on-demand songs from streaming services.

Other songs to follow Bieber's Boyfriend are Gotye's Somebody That I Used to Know, which rose from No. 4 to No. 3, The Wanted's Glad You Came, which slid down from No. 3 to No. 4, and Kelly Clarkson's Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You) that stood at No. 5.

After Boyfriend, girlfriend Selena Gomez is sure going to be proud of her man.
