Kanye West Missed Kim Kardashian’s Birthday Party? Rapper ‘Arrived Late,’ Reports Say

Kim Kardashian recently shared photos from her lavish 40th birthday celebration on a private island, but her husband, Kanye West, was noticeably absent from the snaps, prompting speculation that the rapper skipped the party.

However, an unnamed source has told Us Weekly that West was present but not for the entire duration of the five-day trip. Apparently, he just didn’t arrive on time due to work.

“He arrived late because of work commitments. But was there the last few days of the trip,” the source claimed.

To make up for missing a chunk of his wife’s party, the insider said West “sent Kim something very special on her birthday.”

Fans noticed that West didn’t appear in any of the posts of the reality TV clan on Tuesday and Wednesday. However, the Yeezy designer was featured in a photo on sister-in-law Kourtney Kardashian’s Instagram Story, where he can be seen riding a bike.

The source’s account is similar to Page Six’s report, which said that West wasn’t able to celebrate with Kardashian when she turned 40 on Oct. 21 due to work. The outlet reported, citing unnamed sources, that he was only able to join them on the private island in the last two days of the getaway but made sure to send his wife a “sentimental” present.

Aside from the Kardashian-Jenner clan and West, Kim also invited Scott Disick, Tristan Thompson, Chris Appleton, Corey Gamble, La La Anthony and Tracy Romulus, among others, to her tropical island birthday bash.

Kardashian’s 40th birthday celebration was met with criticism after the KKW Beauty mogul shared pictures from the bash on Instagram and Twitter earlier this week. A number of social media users branded her posts as tone-deaf, especially since most people are struggling to make ends meet during the pandemic.

In her posts, Kardashian said she couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate her milestone than to be with special people in her life. She also revealed that she and her inner circle underwent multiple screenings and quarantined before the trip.

“Before COVID, I don’t think any of us truly appreciated what a simple luxury it was to be able to travel and be together with family and friends in a safe environment,” Kardashian wrote. “After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time.”
