Kate Hudson, Danny Fujikawa Announce Engagement After 5 Years Of Dating

Kate Hudson and Danny Fujikawa are engaged.

The "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" star, 42, took to Instagram Monday to announce the news by sharing a snap of her rocking an engagement ring. The selfie showed her smiling as she embraced Fujikawa, 35, on a beach.

"Let’s go!" Hudson wrote in the caption, adding bride, groom and wedding chapel emojis.

Friends and followers flooded Hudson's post with congratulatory messages for the couple, who took their relationship to the next level after five years of dating.

"Whoa. It’s official. Not gonna lie, been a hard secret to keep. I may have slipped and told a few people," Sara Foster commented.

"Finally we are officially sisters!!" Erin Foster wrote.

"Omg congratulations!!!!" Amanda Kloots wrote.

"SO happy for you two, congratulations!!!" Katie Couric commented.

In April 2020, the "Almost Famous" star appeared on "Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen" where she revealed that quarantining with Fujikawa had made her realize she was with the "right person."

"I think it's even more than that. I think it's positive for knowing that I'm with the right person," she said at the time. "There's nobody else I'd want to be quarantined with right now. He's just the best."

It wasn't the first time that Hudson had gushed over the love of her life. In an interview with Women's Health, she said she felt she had found a "real teammate" in the musician.

"I’ve got the best man. It’s the first time I feel like I have a real teammate in this. We’re able to pick up where the other one has to leave off," the "Bride Wars" actress said.

Hudson and Fujikawa's relationship made headlines in May 2017 when they attended the premiere of "Snatched" at the Regency Village Theatre in Westwood, California. They confirmed their relationship by sharing a kiss on the red carpet.

Prior to that, they were photographed locking lips in March that year. Hudson was seen grabbing him and wrapping her arms around him.

"Kate’s a free spirit who has always been attracted to musicians. But Danny also appeals to her because he is talented, bright and cosmopolitan like she is," a source told People of the pair at the time. "They didn’t care about anyone else around them. They only had eyes for each other."

She and Fujikawa began dating in 2016 after knowing each other for years. They welcomed their first child, daughter Rani, in October 2018.

Hudson was previously married to Chris Robinson from 2000 to 2007. She also shares son Ryder, 17 with Robinson and son Bingham, 9, with ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy.
