Kate Middleton Celebrates 36th Birthday Privately, Without 'Big Party,' Source Says

Kate Middleton just turned 36.

The Duchess of Cambridge celebrated her birthday quietly with her family. According to an insider, there was no lavish party but a low-key gathering.

A source told E! News that the members of the royal family gathered together at Kensington Palace for Middleton's birthday. The royal mom of two is "celebrating privately with [Prince] William and the children," 4-year-old Prince George and 2-year-old Princess Charlotte.

"It's just a quiet celebration at home," the insider added. "No big party."

Another insider also told Hello! of the same thing, that Prince William's wife will be celebrating her special day privately. "She will be spending the day privately," the Deputy Communications Secretary said.

On Sunday, Middleton was spotted walking with Prince William and Prince Charles to attend a church service. The pregnant royal mom was all smiles as they made their way to St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham. Pippa Middleton and her husband, James Matthews, were also spotted at the church. Queen Elizabeth II was reportedly present too, but the monarch opted to drive than walk.

A day prior to Middleton's birthday, she captured and shared two snaps of Princess Charlotte for her first day of school portrait. The little princess looks charming and smart in her matching red dress and shoes. A number noticed Princess Charlotte's resemblance to Queen Elizabeth II in those shots.

The two royals share the same eye structure, arched eyebrows and hair color. Princess Charlotte and the monarch also love pink, cardigans and animals. Middleton has a given talent for photography. In fact, the Duchess of Cambridge was the one who took the first four official photos of her children Prince George and Princess Charlotte in 2015. Later that year, Middleton released a solo photo of Princess Charlotte.

In addition, she also shared a snap of Prince George on his first day of nursery school. That's not all, the duchess also captured the adorable photo of Princess Charlotte in pink dress, sweater, tights and hair clip while playing with her toys as if she is pushing a lawn mower.
