The Duchess of Cambridge, Duchess of Sussex and Countess of Wessex are popular members of the royal family. However, before they married their royal husbands, they had full-time jobs, according to Hello!

Duchess of Cambridge

Middleton used to work at her family’s business, Party Pieces. She also landed a job with British retailer Jigsaw.

The owners of the womenswear brand, John and Belle Robinsons, are close friends with the Middletons. According to them, they were impressed with Middleton especially on how she dealt with the press who kept on hounding them after learning she’s Prince William’s then-girlfriend.

“I thought she was very mature for a 26-year-old, and I think she’s been quite good at neither courting the press nor sticking two fingers in the air at them. I don’t think I would have been so polite,” Belle said of Middleton.

Duchess of Sussex

Markle was an actress before she married Prince Harry. She catapulted to fame after landing the role of Rachel Zane on USA Network’s hit paralegal series “Suits.” Aside from this, Markle made several films and series.

However, she decided to quit acting when she got engaged to Prince Harry. An insider said that Markle knew she “can’t act at the same time as being a princess.” The source added that she’s happy with her career sacrifice.

Markle also addressed the issue during her engagement interview. According to her, she didn’t see her decision to quit acting as something that she gave up on.

“It's a new chapter, right? And also, keep in mind, I’ve been working on [‘Suits’] for seven years. We were very, very fortunate to have that sort of longevity on a series…I’ve ticked this box, and I feel very proud of the work I’ve done there, and now it’s time to work with [Harry] as a team,” Markle said.

Sophie, Countess of Wessex

Prince Edward’s wife worked in public relations. From there, she went on to work in different firms before opening her own, RJH Public Relations, in 1996. After three years, Sophie married Prince Edward.
