Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle made separate appearances at Wimbledon ahead of their scheduled joint appearance at the finals.

The palace just announced that the Duchess of Cambridge and Duchess of Sussex will be attending Ladies’ Singles Finals at the Wimbledon today. However, prior to that, Middleton and Markle made separate appearances at the tournament. However, their visits received different reactions from the people. Middleton was praised while Markle was criticized.

“She didn’t go to the Royal Box, she went straight to court 14 to support a British player and sat amongst everyone which I thought was fabulous,” royal expert Juliet Rieden told Nine News Australia on what Middleton did.

“On the other side, we had Meghan, who we didn’t know was going to come, with her two friends to watch her best mate Serena Williams play and to support her. There were a lot of spare seats around her – obviously, the security had to make sure that happened.”

Markle reportedly instructed one of her security personnel to tell people to not take photos of her because she was there in “private capacity.” One man was caught on camera holding his phone in front of Markle, but when the shots were zoomed it turned out that he was not taking photos of the duchess. Instead, he was just taking a selfie.

Due to the photo snub scandal, Markle gained a new nickname. Aside from being called “Duchess Difficult,” TV host Carole Malone called her “Princess Privacy.” The TV presenter added that Markle was not in the position to demand.

“Oh my god, the hypocrisy, the arrogance, the control freaky. Sorry but Meghan isn’t entitled to demand special treatment. And people are fed up of her and Harry with their litany of imaginary grievances,” Malone said.

“Behaving like two of life’s victims, rather than the luckiest people alive. Fact: As Duchess of Sussex she can’t ever be private.”

Markle made two major blunders when she appeared on Wimbledon. First, she arrived wearing jeans when those in the royal box were required to wear formal attire. Second, she missed Andy Murray’s game which was considered a massive faux pas and a “nightmare” because she is signed to the royal family and missing a Brit’s game is a big mistake.
