Baby fever seemed to overtake the royal family in 2018, and bookmakers are increasingly expecting that another royal baby will be announced in 2019—a fourth child for Kate Middleton and Prince William.

According to Bookmaker Coral, there are high odds of 2/1 that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will announce that they are expecting a fourth child at some point in 2019, especially since Middleton is actually younger than her sister-in-law, Meghan Markle, who is expected to give birth in 2019.

“It’s often forgotten that Kate is actually younger than Meghan and our odds ahead of the New Year show it’s a real possibility that she and Prince William will add to their tribe of three children,” Harry Aitkenhead of Coral told Express UK. “It’s just 2/1 that they announce a pregnancy during 2019.”

The odds are considered high for the Duchess to have a fourth child so she can emulate her grandmother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II, who also had four children, even though pregnancy comes with risks for her. Her previous three pregnancies all saw her suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness, and she would likely suffer from the condition again during another pregnancy.

While there has been no announcement by the royal couple of plans to have a fourth child, odds are often high that they would consider welcoming a fourth kid. Aitkenhead previously stated that Coral had slashed the odds, and Ladbrokes also recently slashed their odds from 7/2 to 3/1 when it came to the possibility of the Duke and Duchess having a fourth child.
