  • Kate Middleton and Prince William were, reportedly, affected by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's bombshell exit
  • The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have, allegedly, been enjoying the spotlight since the controversial 'Megxit'
  • Kate Middleton and Prince William will have more hectic schedules in the upcoming months

There is no denying that Kate Middleton and Prince William are two of the most affected members of the royal family when Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced their decision to step back from their responsibilities as senior royals. Though there have been speculations saying that the Cambridge and Sussex couples were not on great terms for months already, reports claimed that Kate and William were still heartbroken after learning about Meghan and Harry’s bombshell exit.

Now that the Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor’s parents are already in North America, Kate and Prince William are said to be stepping up their royal duties. In fact, the royal couple was all smiles during a visit to Bradford, England in January. Though the pressure is on them, the Cambridge pair, as per Star Magazine, appears to be enjoying the spotlight.

To recall, Kate Middleton and Prince William, on Jan. 20, hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace for the United Kingdom-African Investment Summit. They even paid tribute and joined genocide survivors during this year’s Holocaust Memorial Day ceremony in London.

"They’re warm, genuine and down-to-earth. And it’s clear that the public utterly adores them," a source told the entertainment news publication. "Queen Elizabeth went to William directly instead of Prince Charles, who’s usually the messenger, and asked them to take on more work. That showed just how serious she was,” it continued.

The tipster, also, said that Kate Middleton has not spoken with Meghan Markle yet since she and Prince Harry left the palace. Prince William, on the other hand, only had one or two encounters with his younger brother. “The fact is, William and Kate have moved on and the way they see it, this is the perfect opportunity for them to shine,” it went on.

Kate Middleton and Prince William have yet to comment on this report. But, with Star Magazine's history of creating stories based on the accounts of its anonymous and unreliable sources, this could just be another speculation waiting to be debunked.

Meanwhile, per Hello! Magazine, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are set to meet the entire cast of the “Dear Evan Hansen” stage play later this month. Kate Middleton and Prince William are expected to grace a special performance on Feb. 25 at the Noel Coward Theatre. Prince Harry’s brother will, also, attend France vs. Wales Six Nations Match on Feb. 22 at the Principality Stadium while Pippa Middleton’s sister is expected to join a SportsAid event on Feb. 26 at the London Stadium.
