Kim Kardashian and Kanye West got a surprise call from Prince William and Kate Middleton, congratulating the couple on the birth of their boy Saint West on Saturday, a source told Hollywood Life. The report said that West and Kardashian were “shocked and impressed” by the gesture from the royal couple and were “mesmerized” by their kindness.

“It takes a lot for Kanye to be shocked or even impressed, but he was just that when Prince William and Kate phoned him and Kim, congratulating them and sending them their love on the birth of their second child,” the source told Hollywood Life, adding: “Kanye was mesmerized and thought that was just classy.”

“[Kanye] told the Prince and Duchess that his son is America’s prince!” the source reportedly said, adding: “They loved that. Kanye has never sought the approval of others, but that call solidified his royal status.”

The couple already has a 2-year-old daughter together named North West. The two announced the name of their son on Kardashian’s blog and said that Saint was born weighing 8 pounds 1 ounce. The photos of the child are yet to be shared.

Another report by Hollywood Life said that Kardashian and West chose the name Saint because it goes well with the newborn’s middle name. “One of the reasons Kim and Kanye went with the name Saint is that it goes perfectly with the middle name they chose, Robert [Kardashian, Kim’s late father]. Kim has always considered her dad to be a saint. So Saint Robert is ideal!” a source told Hollywood Life.

According to previous reports, Kardashian’s due date was Dec. 25, but doctors decided to induce her labor early due to pregnancy complications.
