  • James Cracknell once knocked Kate Middleton over
  • He also stepped on the Duchess of Cambridge's toes
  • James Cracknell had a hilarious exchange with Prince William following the incident

Kate Middleton’s toes got stepped on and she was reportedly knocked over at a wedding years ago.

Former Olympic rower James Cracknell shared details from her hilarious encounter with the Duchess of Cambridge at Ben Fogle’s sister-in-law’s wedding. While there, Cracknell was introduced to Prince William and Middleton by Olivia Hunt.

While speaking with OK! magazine, Cracknell blamed the accident on his inability to dance.

“Years ago, Ben Fogle and I went to his sister-in-law's wedding. Ben's other sister-in-law went out with Prince William and so he and Kate were there. Kate was like ‘do you want to go to a dance?’ I trod on her toe and managed to knock her over,” he said.

When Prince William saw what just happened, he made a funny comeback by telling Cracknell that he just knocked over the future queen. The former Olympian fired back by saying that he warned the Duchess of Cambridge that he couldn’t dance but she still insisted on it so it’s her fault.

Last year, the future queen also made headlines after her and Prince William’s royal convoy got into a serious accident. At that time, the royal couple was traveling from London to Windsor to attend the Order of the Garter ceremony at St. George’s Chapel.

According to Elle, the accident involved a marked police motorbike which was part of the Royalty and Specialist Protection Command. An 83-year-old woman was in a serious condition after she got hurt during the accident.

Immediately after, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released a statement expressing their sadness following the incident.

“Their Royal Highnesses have sent their very best wishes to Irene and her family and will stay in touch throughout every stage of her recovery,” their statement read.

Prince William and Middleton also made headlines this week after it was revealed that they are furious at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle due to their disregard for Queen Elizabeth. The Cambridges also think that the Sussexes flagrantly disrespected Her Majesty.
