Golden State Warriors small forward Kevin Durant has been fined $25,000 by the NBA on Tuesday after he directed abusive language toward a fan during his team’s 112-109 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday.

The exchange between Durant and the fan, who was sitting courtside, occurred during the first quarter against Dallas. The two-time NBA Finals MVP is not having a great week after it started with a heated argument with teammate Draymond Green.

The Warriors have been on a destructive run since the altercation between the two players during their overtime loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. They have since gone on a 1-3 run with Durant clearly not a happy camper especially on the court as he has only managed 3-for-21 from beyond the arc in the last five games.

According to TMZ Sports, a witness, who was not too far away from the incident, said the hecklers were just throwing regular NBA trash talk toward Durant.

The Warriors forward did not take too kindly to the “cupcake” and other insults, walked toward the fan sitting under the basket courtside and was heard saying: “watch the f---ing game and shut the f--- up."

The witness revealed that the group that was going after Durant “laughed off” the incident and then ramped up the trash talk after they realized they had gotten to the Warriors star.

The Warriors will be keen to arrest their slide when they take on the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night at the Oracle Arena and coach Steve Kerr has called on the team to fight to get back to winning ways.

“We got to fight, everyone just has got to fight. You know, watching the tape from San Antonio I thought there were some good moments where we hung in there when we could have gotten blown out,” Kerr said after Tuesday’s practice ahead of their game against Oklahoma City.

“I am very pleased with the effort in Dallas, despite the loss. We have to look at it objectively as a staff and find the things we need to work on. We know the type of scrutiny this team has. We are always going to have that type of spotlight on us, so just deal with that,” the Warriors coach added.

Coach Kerr will again be without Stephen Curry, who is expected to miss at least the next three games due to a groin injury. While Draymond Green and Alfonzo McKinney are also set to miss their third straight game but have a chance to return for their Friday night game against the Portland Trailblazers.

The Warriors, who had made a 10-1 start to the season, but their five losses in the last seven games have seen them drop from the top of the Western Conference standings to third place behind the Trailblazers and the Memphis Grizzlies.
