With just three games left in the series, the hopes of a Kevin Durant comeback are slowly getting dashed as NBA veteran Jalen Rose revealed the real status of the superstar’s recovery.

The Golden State Warriors desperately need to win all three remaining games of the NBA Finals series against the consistently performing Kawhi Leonard and the Toronto Raptors. Warriors star point guard Stephen Curry has been playing very well in the first four games, but it is obvious that the team badly needed the services of the reigning Finals MVP.

Unfortunately, it seems like there will be no Durant showing up in a Warriors jersey in the final games of the series as NBA veteran and ESPN’s Jalen Rose revealed a concerning update about the superstar's workout and recovery status.

According to Yahoo Sports, the NBA veteran and ESPN personality witnessed Durant’s workout, which the media was not allowed to see. And he described the outcome as not positive.

Based on Rose’s statement, Durant’s most recent workout did not go so well, and the way sees it, it is likely that the 30-year-old NBA star will never make a return.

“I went from being a guy that thinks that he may come back later in the series. Now I feel like he might not come back at all,” Rose revealed.

Apart from the injury issues, Durant is also currently dealing with free agency talks which involve a lot of rumors and potential deals with other teams. With all this happening, it is hard to imagine what is really going on in the superstar’s mind.

In relation to this, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith surprised the basketball world last Friday on “First Take” when he revealed what he knew about Durant’s decision towards free agency. According to Smith, Durant’s decision depends on the outcome of the 2019 NBA Finals, NBC Sports noted.

"Kevin, I was told, if the Warriors win, KD leaves. If they lose, he stays," Smith revealed.

At this point, it is expected that Durant will not make an appearance in Game 5, at least until Rose’s prediction go the other way around.

Many still believe that the outcome of the NBA Finals would have been different if Durant had been there to play. The Warriors were doing just right in Game 4 until halfway through the 3rd quarter and the whole 4th quarter when the game went one-sided as the Raptors took over. Despite Klay Thompson’s return, the Warriors fell short and lost 105-92.
