Khabib Nurmagomedov was clearly not a happy man after he was one among four Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighters suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) - for the melee caused during UFC 229 in October 2018.

The Russian fighter was handed a nine-month suspension and fined $500,000 of a disclosed $2 million purse for his role in the post-fight altercation between his camp and Conor McGregor’s, whom he has just beaten via a fourth round submission at UFC 229 in Las Vegas.

Nurmagomedov’s manager Ali Abdelaziz has revealed that the UFC lightweight champion will not fight in Nevada State again, telling ESPN: "He's done with Vegas for giving his brothers such harsh punishment. He loves MSG [Madison Square Garden]. Lots of his fans live around there, and New York has always been good to him. He misses fighting in New York."

While the Russian was given a nine-month suspension from the UFC, McGregor, who was also involved in the melee was handed a six-month ban and a fine of $50,000. But since the suspensions are dated retrospectively to Oct. 6 2018 when the event occurred the dup can return to action on Jul 6. And Apr. 6 respectively.

However, Nurmagomedov’s cousin PFL lightweight Abubakar Nurmagomedov and teammate Zubaira Tukhugov, who were a major part of the altercation between the two camps were each handed a one-year suspensions and fines of $25,000, which the UFC lightweight champion is expected to cover.

Despite Nurmagomedov allowed to return to the octagon on July 6, his manager Abdelaziz has revealed that he will not fight until the end of his cousin and teammate’s suspension ends in October. The Russian’s manager indicated that the fighter is targeting a return in November at Madison Square Garden in a yet to be named event.

The Nevada Commission launched an investigation immediately after the event, which required police to diffuse the situation after fighters and trainers from both camps began trading blows after the conclusion of the fight between the two long-time rivals.

Nurmagomedov was clearly not happy with the decision by the NSAC as he tweeted “politics forever”, while his manager Abdelaziz claims that it is “bull****” that his client received a $500,000 fine while McGregor has to only pay $50,000.

"I don't think it's fair," Abdelaziz said of the fines. "Khabib gets $500K and Conor gets $50K? I think it's bulls---."

McGregor has already called for a rematch, but it is unclear if the UFC will sanction a fight between the two fighters immediately upon their return from suspension. They are likely to face different opponents before a rematch at a later date.
