Robert Carradine, the “King of the Nerds” himself, is in the hospital after being involved in a devastating car crash that occurred last week in southwestern Colorado. According to TMZ, the star of “Revenge of the Nerds” was rushed to the hospital after getting into an accident with a semi-truck -- a calamity that has left the 60-year-old actor with “incapacitating” injuries. Carradine’s wife, Edith, was also in the car during the time of the crash and has been reported as injured.

The police report obtained by TMZ revealed that the head-on collision occurred after Carradine drove his car over the dividing line, slamming into the truck.

"He was northbound on Highway 145 and drove right into the oncoming lane," Colorado State Patrol Sgt. James Saunders told the Dolores Star.

The chilling photos, which you can see here, prove just how horrific the accident was. Carradine, who also starred on the Disney channel series “Lizzie McGuire,” and his wife were removed from the totaled car by firefighters and transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital in Cortez before getting transferred to Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango.

“The fact that they were wearing seatbelts is why they are with us today,” Saunders said.

It was revealed that Carradine, brother of actor Keith Carradine and the late actor David Carradine, was cited for driving carelessly. But officials say drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the car crash.

Carradine currently serves as executive producer and host on the TBS reality competition, “King of the Nerds,” which is currently on its third season and airing its final episode on Friday. The series follows contestants as they attempt to win the grand prize of $100,000 by competing in challenges that test their intellect, skills, pop culture knowledge and more.
