  • Kyra Sedgwick was once invited to Tom Cruise's house and never got invited again
  • The "Loverboy" star admitted that she pushed something that turned out to be the panic button
  • Five patrol cars quickly arrived at Cruise's place and their gathering was quickly interrupted

Kyra Sedgwick shared a funny story that happened when she was at Tom Cruise's house which she believed was the reason why she never got an invite again from the "Mission: Impossible" star.

Sedgwick, 55, shared the embarrassing and hilarious story on "The Drew Barrymore Show" Wednesday. She admitted that she was a nosy dinner guest and speculated that it was probably why Cruise didn't invite her again to his house.

"It was a sad moment, but it was a funny story," Sedgwick told host Drew Barrymore. "So I was pregnant, I was very pregnant... We got invited over for dinner with lots of famous people."

"It was one of those nights that I often don't get invited to. And so, there was this like fireplace mantle, and I was looking around and there was this little button underneath the mantle. I was like, 'Oh, what is that little button?' So I pressed the little button, because I thought maybe something interesting will happen."

Barrymore asked if she was expecting something after pushing the button, like a wall turning around. The "Loverboy" star said it was exactly what she anticipated. She got "a little nervous" while waiting what would happen, but nothing transpired.

She turned to the host and told Cruise she pushed the button. Sedgwick and Cruise both starred in "Born On The Fourth Of July" in 1989 and his response was more serious than she expected.

"So I tapped Tom on the shoulder, who was in the middle of a story, and I said, 'I pressed this button down here.' And he was like, 'You pressed that button?' And I said, 'Yeah, I pressed that button.' And he goes, 'That's the panic button.'"

According to Sedgwick around five patrol cars arrived at Cruise's home and they had to stop the movie screening.

"It was something. I didn't get invited back," she added.

Sedgwick also talked about her relationship with her husband, Kevin Bacon. Barrymore asked her about abandonment issues and how she figured out that Bacon was the one for her.

"I struggled with these questions because I honestly feel we just got lucky and we're just in it for the long haul," she said. "He's such a sticker and I'm such a sticker and I just know that no matter what where not gonna go anywhere."
