Real Madrid has officially signed Reiner Jesus, an 18-year-old attacking midfielder who has finally fulfilled a life-long dream. The Brazil under-23 international was officially introduced at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu recently, completing a €35 million transfer from Flamengo. He will be under contract with Los Blancos for six-years.

Jesus will join Madrid Castilla until the end of its campaign with plans of making the first team later on. Struggling to hold back his emotions, the 18-year-old was brimming with joy during the press conference of his official unveiling, Marca reported.

"I am living a childhood dream, I want to be part of the great history at this club. Today is a day of great happiness for me. Hala Madrid!"

Based on what he has accomplished so far, Jesus is one of the top upcoming young footballers. He is a proven winner, owning a league title and a Copa Libertadores medal with Brazil last season, Goal.com reported. He was also part of the final squad for the World Cup in Qatar.

Moving forward, Reiner will try to follow the path of Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo, fellow countrymen who also left their homeland to join Real Madrid - and at practically the same age. Equally elated with Jesus is Madrid president Florentino Perez. He reiterated the club's transfer policy, particularly on targeting the best young players in the world of football.

"When a new player arrives at this club, it is something that excites us. He has only just turned 18 but has already been able to conquer the Copa Libertadores at a great club like Flamengo," Perez said.

Apparently, Perez is also aware of how avid Reinder is with Real Madrid. He mentioned how the 18-year-old can now live the dream of playing for the team that he often chooses when playing football video games.

"You are one of the emerging stars of world football, congratulations because today many of your footballing dreams are coming true, the great challenges of your life await you," Perez added.

Aside from praising Jesus, Perez concluded by vowing that the charges of Zidane Zinedine will continue to compete for La Liga and Champions League with full force from now until May. Real Madrid holds a slim one-point lead over Barcelona in the Spanish title race and is also in a last 16 tie with Manchester City. Reiner was on hand during Los Blancos' last match, a disappointing 2-2 draw that spoiled the return of Eden Hazard.
