  • Real Madrid goalkeeper says Hazard doing good in training
  • Hazard playing this season could be risky
  • Real aching to play out remaining La Liga games

Real Madrid will need all the firepower it can get and Eden Hazard could be that guy. The 29-year-old winger was one of the players who returned to practice but his health remains a big question mark. But according to Los Blancos goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, Hazard is looking good but is aware that they cannot rush the Belgian back into action.

Hazard has been limited to just 15 appearances this season since arriving from Chelsea. He has struggled this season with fitness and injuries. He made a brief return after dealing with ankle, hamstring and foot injuries. In February, he played for about 70 minutes against Barcelona. The heavy minutes drew criticism, especially since Hazard was coming off an injury. He ended up breaking his ankle before football action was halted by the COVID-19 pandemic. But like most injured players, Hazard may have been given enough time to recover from his injuries.

In a previous post, it was mentioned that Hazard was happy to be back training with his teammates. However, he also stressed he still needs to work on his game, particularly physical and ball work. This sent of mixed signals that Hazard may not be suiting up once football action resumes this month. Real is set to face Eibar on June 14 as Los Blancos tries to catch up with clubs ahead of them. Real Madrid is currently at the 2nd spot of the La Liga table and is just two points behind Barcelona.

Given that scenario, Zinedine Zidane could get a big boost if Hazard is ready to play. But as Courtois pointed out, the Belgian is unlikely to be at 100 percent if he does play for Los Blancos for the remainder of the season.

"We can't expect him to be on top form without playing. I think he's in shape and we'll need him to fight for the title," Courtois said to Spanish outlet Movistar via Goal.com.

Despite that, there remains no assurance that Hazard will be good to go. Considering the Belgian has already had a rough first season with Real, another injury is something that may affect him mentally if he does play for the remainder of the season.

With or without Hazard, Courtois is raring to get back into action. Though there will be no fans and that they will have to play at the club's Valdebebas training ground, the 28-year-old goalkeeper is confident they can compete.
