Lashana Lynch might be more than another Bond girl. “Bond 25” is rumored to show Daniel Craig passing the torch to her.

The “Captain Marvel” actress was cast in the supporting role of Nomi earlier this year, but the Daily Mail reports that Nomi is actually the new 007.

“There is a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M says ‘Come in 007,’ and in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful and a woman,” an anonymous source told the outlet. “It’s a popcorn-dropping moment. Bond is still Bond but he’s been replaced as 007 by this stunning woman.”

Theories that Lynch will play the new 007 have been circulating for a little while. Fans seemed especially excited after set photos showed her wearing a safari jacket reminiscent of the one Roger Moore wore in “The Man with the Golden Gun.”

“Bond 25” will reportedly pick up in Jamaica after Bond has seemingly retired. Of course, he’s brought back in for one more mission. Nomi and Bond will go up against Rami Malek’s villain. The “Bohemian Rhapsody” star will play a terrorist.

“Bond 25” also includes returning characters such as M (Ralph Fiennes), Eve Moneypenny (Naomi Harris), Bill Tanner (Rory Kinnear), Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright), Dr. Madeline Swann (Léa Seydoux) and Q (Ben Whishaw).

The cast has been filming in Jamaica, which is where author Ian Fleming once lived and where the first Bond movie, “Dr. No,” took place.

Cary Joji Fukunaga directs. Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Scott Z. Burns wrote the script. “Bond 25” is due in theaters on April 8, 2020.
