A new trailer of “The Last Kingdom” Season 4 has been released online. Uhtred (Alexander Dreymon) will return, but he will be a changed man after the death of his king. Meanwhile, Wessex will have to face a new invasion.

Uhtred will be a changed man in the next season. A new trailer shows the warrior seemingly lost after the death of King Alfred (David Dawson). Uhtred will recall everything that he has lost in his journey, which includes his lands and his name.

“I’m no longer Uhtred of Bebbanburg,” Dreymon’s character says in the trailer.

With Edward (Tomothy Innes) taking over the reins of the kingdom, his mother Aelswith (Eliza Butterworth) may wield the real power behind-the-scenes. Uhtred may not have a place in this new power structure, and one of the scenes in the trailer shows him laying down his sword.

If Uhtred is no longer defending Wessex, the kingdom will be open for another invasion from the Danes. Cnut (Magnus Bruun) will lead a massive army to invade Alfred’s kingdom in “The Last Kingdom” Season 4 in order to sit on his throne. Brida (Emily Cox) appears to be joining the invading army.

Ultimately, Uhtred will have to come to aid Wessex in this new war. Aethelflaed (Millie Brady) appears to be the one who will convince the warrior to return.

There will be some brutal battles to look forward to in the next season. The Instagram page of the TV series has also released a behind-the-scenes picture of Steapa actor Adrian Bouchet filming an action sequence.

Aldhelm (James Northcote) will also be back in the next season. A behind-the-scenes picture shows the actor in full costume, and the post teased that he will be getting involved in the upcoming battles.

“The Last Kingdom” Season 4 will be released on April 26 on Netflix.
