LeAnn Rimes has said that she feels "devastated" about rescheduling her two upcoming shows after a bleed was discovered on her vocal cord.

The 40-year-old singer shared a handwritten note on Instagram on Wednesday that reads, "It completely and utterly breaks my heart to have to announce that I will be rescheduling this weekend's shows."

"While sick with the flu, my doctor discovered a bleed on my vocal cord, caused by the violent cough that came along with being sick," she added. "I am getting better, but I am unable to talk or sing... doctor's orders!"

Rimes explained that she feels "devastated" about rescheduling her shows as she was looking forward to celebrating the holidays with her fans. She requested her fans to check their emails for "rescheduled information."

She concluded the handwritten note, "I will see you very soon."

Rimes mentioned the rescheduled dates in the caption of the post. Riverside Casino and Golf resort show in Riverside, which was supposed to happen this Friday, has been rescheduled for Sept. 29 next year.

The singer was also supposed to perform at Ryman in Nashville this Saturday, which has been rescheduled for April 8 next year.

Rimes' concert, titled "JOY: The Holiday Tour," will resume from Dec. 16 onwards. The singer will be performing at Chinook Winds Casino Resort located in Lincoln City, Oregon.

This was not the first time when Rimes had to postpone her performance due to sickness.

Last month, the singer announced on Nov. 29 that she had to cancel her performance at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Central New York due to bad health. The show was supposed to be held on Dec. 2 and no new date has been announced yet.

"To my Verona, NY fans, I'm sorry to announce that we'll have to cancel the show this Friday because I'm too sick to travel and perform," the statement was posted on Facebook on Nov. 30 by the resort. "It breaks my heart I can't be there as I was so excited to celebrate the holiday season with you all. We will reschedule and I look forward to that time when we can be together again."
