KEY POINTS

  • Leonardo DiCaprio thinks Gigi Hadid is a "wise and cool character," a report says
  • The pair reportedly have "a ton" of mutual friends who are "happy to see them together"
  • DiCaprio reportedly hinted to his friends that he's "way less interested in that playboy lifestyle"

Leonardo DiCaprio and Gigi Hadid are "officially dating" after weeks of being romantically linked to each other, a report says.

DiCaprio, 47, has "always had a soft spot" for Hadid, 27, an unnamed source told Us Weekly, adding, "He thinks she's beautiful of course but also a wise and cool character who's got a very cultured and educated take on life."

The pair have "a ton" of mutual friends who are "happy to see them together," the insider said, adding that their relationship caught "a lot of them off guard."

The insider also claimed that the "Titanic" star is aware that fans have noticed his tendency to date young models, many of whom are 25 years old or younger.

"Leo plays it down but there's no denying he does have a type, or he has until now," the source explained, referring to the fact that Hadid is over the age of the actor's past few girlfriends. "But at almost 48, he's mellowing out a lot more and dropping hints to his buddies that he's way less interested in that playboy lifestyle."

Earlier this month, it was reported that DiCaprio was pursuing Hadid, but the model was not interested in anything romantic with him at the time.

"Leo does have his sights set on Gigi, but she hasn't shown an interest," an unnamed insider told Us Weekly on Sept. 7. "They're friends, but she doesn't want to be romantic with [him] right now."

A week later, an unnamed source told E! News that DiCaprio was "enjoying being single" following his split from Camila Morrone and that he and Hadid were "not exclusive."

DiCaprio and Morrone, 25, dated for four years before they called it quits in August. An unnamed source previously told Us Weekly that they parted ways because they "weren't having fun anymore," adding, "The honeymoon phase was over and things faded out."

Before their split made headlines, the "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" star had been "attending events and going on vacations" sans Morrone and had been spending more time with his pals Tobey Maguire and Jamie Foxx, according to the outlet.

Morrone and DiCaprio kept the details of their relationship private. They were first romantically linked in early 2018 during a trip to Aspen, Colorado. They made their debut as a couple when they sat together in the front row at the Oscars in February 2020.

Meanwhile, Hadid was in an on-again, off-again relationship with Zayn Malik for five years before they split for good in October 2021. The exes share 2-year-old daughter Khai.
